RESEARCH
Every good project begins with knowing your stakeholder needs, who is the intended audience, and how best to reach and speak to them. If design does not solve those problems, it is not very useful. After these initial considerations are addressed, the second research stage begins with diving deeper into the employer or client, understanding the competition, and creative inspiration. That way I have a more well rounded picture on the challanges at hand before I begin any designing.
IDEATION
This might be the most enjoyable part of the whole process for me because I get to explore all ideas and jot them down. Ideas are always sketched out on pen and paper before I ever use the computer because I have great flexibility and there isn't a need to be precise just yet. This stage also involves a list of keywords to help guide brainstorming.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
Now it is time to get those ideas fleshed out into workable concepts on the computer. At this stage I can see what works and what doesn't as well as evaluating and testing if I am meeting stakeholder needs. The cream of the crop are then presented to see which one(s) stand out the most and refine even further if necessary. Multiple meetings may be required.
FINAL DESIGN
Once a single design solution is agreed upon, now it's time to refine the final design into the end product ready for delivery. This step includes preparing files for print or digital/web delivery in proper file formats.
